Blocking instances at user level is pointless, they just repost to instances/communities that tolerate them and boom, you get to see their propaganda.
Also their users are encouraged to be deranged so you still have to deal with those.
It's always better to just isolate them.

Accelerated is the wrong word since he was the one who started giving them control of civil and private matters, even telling them to let certain narcos take control of towns and to not disturb them.
This is all by design, they know what they are doing and now that they have absolute power there's nobody who can stop them.

If memory serves me right, the mexican one, isn't really mexican, even the cult was created by an immigrant... And adopted by the narcos as a way to have some fixation on a divinity that would protect them while they do crimes.
You'd have to check the different pantheons of our history since there could be multiple gods of death (or entities that act like a grim reaper).
Can confirm, moved there and things got better but I stick to what I always say:
