Can't believe it took me so long to get around to playing this but I'm so glad I did. Dishonored is still my favorite of theirs but now I've played all their games and they are easily my favorite studio because of their rich storytelling and immersive world design.

Just wanted to show a little love for this fantastic game. I'm already contemplating another playthrough and can't wait to dig I to some of the more hidden details that I missed first time around.

If you haven't played it, try Mooncrash too! It's a great side story to Prey.

That will probably be my next purchase. I'm excited yo try it!

Tried it, game was too hard for me. I think it’s the kind of game that rewards you for investing a lot in it, which isn’t for me. It also didn’t really hold my hand enough. I play only a few games a year and I don’t have time to live in a games world and figure it out.

I imagine others like it for those reasons.

I just played through it this year for the first time as well (gave up a few hours in on the original release). Really is an awesome game with such a surprisingly great intro.

Finally got around to playing it a couple years ago. Fantastic game. Intriguing story and satisfying game play that's just unique enough to stand apart. I really really enjoyed it.

I still need to play it, been meaning to go a playthrough on my Steam Deck but every time I hear about Prey someone is always saying it's a great game.

Absolutely amazing game. Loved it from start to finish.

I'm such a sucker for this type of game where you wake up and have no idea what's going on. I loved Prey. I thought it had some difficulty scaling issues, like too hard at the beginning and too easy at the end. But if you aren't afraid to move the difficulty slider around, that isn't really much of an issue.

I never got past the beginning in the demo. Prey often comes up on sale but I always pass on it because I wasn't hooked on my first try

Try the 2006 version of Prey next

[–] JackDark@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Seriously! Every time I see something about Prey and it's not the 2006 version, I'm annoyed.

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm just amazed that prey 2006 is still hilariously cheap on those gray Market sites, cuz that's the only way to get it now

One day I'll give the game with the same name an actual shot, because I'm sure it's good on its own merits, but it will always be a reminder that Prey 2. The REAL Prey 2 was stolen from us

Every so often I watch that gameplay trailer for Prey 2 and make myself sad.

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Never forget what they stole from you

Yeah, when the new Prey came out I was very, very confused for a while.

I ended up liking the game, but I didn't find it as interesting as the original.

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

I felt personally attacked when this game was not only blowing up in popularity, but the original was taken off of steam and seemingly memory holed

[–] agentshags@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

that game was trippy.

One of the best examples of replayability I've seen in the past decade, I love how the skills adjust to your choices.

A top favorite for me, for sure. I love the art style of the station, the zero gravity sections, the exploration of it all, the different skills you can use and how that plays into the story, the combat feels good, the premise is at its core interesting and good sci Fi, it just ticks so many boxes.
