Shocker, the suits who helped force out the original creative team just said "Fuck you and the horse you rode in on" to what was left of the creative team after the departure of Kurvitz, Rostov, and Hindpere.

I know Tuulik wanted the rest of the team to have a chance to do a follow-up, but this aligns with why some promoted the idea that they were happy with the game being pirated: the people holding the purse strings don't actually care about it.

Reminder to everyone to pirate and play this game.

Even pirating is supporting a game and oddly helps with sales in many situations.

Well if I people could steal from them directly I'd have said that 😔

Whatever game they end up putting out, it's going to be Disco Elysium in name only and I hope it doesn't fool anyone into buying it.

Tuulik was a real one and I would have been very interested in his spinoff. He was really the last bastion of the old ZA/UM as one of the co-creators of the setting (having been part of the original Elysium tabletop game sessions with Kurvitz et al). Him getting fired a couple of months ago was pretty much the final nail for ZA/UM.

But hey, at least the Disco Elysium mobile game with 0 original creator participation is still under development!

I think the old ZA/UM developers still have a chance to reform as a new company and work on something new. After a while, this new company can buy off the remains of a now-defunct ZA/UM, get back the rights to Disco Elysium and the Sacred and Terrible Air universe, and make another game or three for it.

But, it has to happen now, and we need to stop talking about ZA/UM. Focus on a new project. I don't quite understand why we haven't heard any news about this.

Is Kurvitz and team so depressed about the current situation to not attempt at picking things back up again? They have so much hype it's unreal. So, it's nowhere near as hard as just getting your name out there like ZA/UM and Disco Elysium, and it would never flop as hard as Sacred and Terrible Air. They've made it. They have recognizable names, and if they ever re-form, it would be all over the gaming sites.
