Man, this is such a silly and unfortunate exploit. Damn! I hope it gets patched quick.

I didn't know about this keyboard actually. Just installed it and it's great. Only issue with it that it only supports English. I guess I'll use it for English only. Thank you so much.

EDIT: never mind. It does support other languages. All set now.

I truly believe that this will happen, too, as there has been a lot of uproar about this bullshit of data collection all over the world. Corporations are going too far with this even corrupt politicians now think it's too much.

About freaking time, man. This one has always been on my mind. It can't be like that. It's messed up. Glad someone is making a move.

Have you tried Google keyboard (gboard) lately? It made me want to break my phone and just not have one at all. It corrects proper words to other words that make the sentences don't make sense. It corrects words that are already correct and it ignores the misspelled words. It wants to speak for me. They think they're making us type faster with their predictive text, but I was re-reading every thing I put on the internet. I became slower. Thankfully I found a worse keyboard, but it doesn't autocorrect~~s~~ as much and I'm ok with that. Fuck Google.

LOL. I don't live in a hot climate? How about the middle east? Does that sound hot enough? I grew up living in a tent. A literal tent until I was about 20, then my father decided to build a house. Then that house had no power until 2008. And our weather there can get to 130+ easily. So, imagine that heat. Imagine how getting into a car would feel. Here is a photo I took of a thermometer I took in June of 2009. It was around 1 pm. I was on a military base that day. It won't kill you, you will be fine. Open your windows and wait outside a little so you don't melt. lol

I hope so? Lol

They're barking at the very wrong tree. lol

Quick math: this is only 0.076% of their 2023's revenue. No wonder big corporations don't give a fuck about fines and will continue doing fucked up/illegal shit. This is not a fine, this is a green light, my friends.

This is, ladies and gentlemen, called CONFIDENCE IN YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS!!!!! You force arbitration when YOU KNOW you're a piece of shit and fuck your customers whenever you have the chance.

[–] penquin@lemm.ee 53 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Steam is the very first company I've ever seen do this. I've been getting tons of emails from random fucking companies I've probably created an account with at some point in the past, and they ALL do this arbitration bullshit. Steam is the only fucking company that went the other direction, and I love them for this.

Not sure if this is something voyager can do or if it's a Lemmy thing. I don't see any indicator that a post is locked when the mods lock it.

Like the title says, are there any EVs that just have a Bluetooth radio and that's it? Like a normal car, not a smartphone on wheels? If not, do you all think that this will actually happen at some point? This is the main reason why I can't (and will never) buy an EV. I like to have actual buttons everywhere on my car. I think those massive tablets on these cars with all the touch buttons are very dangerous. I like an "entertainment system" that only connects to my phone with either a headphone jack ~~of~~ or Bluetooth. It's a car, not a PC.

I was going through my block list and found out that there is no way to unblock any of them on the app. There was nothing to click or 3 dots for options or anything. Just a list of the blocked communities. Anyone knows how? Thanks

Switching from Endeavour OS to Nobara

Hi all, I've been having issues with my favorite games on EndeavourOS Linux. Also, on top of that, an update the other day deleted my whole plasma desktop and left me with a skeleton of SDDM. I got it fixed, but some things are still wonky. I'm honestly getting tired of maintaining it and I just want something that just works for my video games and some coding. Nobara sounded awesome after some research. I do have a couple of questions for you all before switching:

  1. Is Nobara atomic? Immutable? Or whatever those distros are called.

  2. I have my /root, /home separate each in their own drive, plus a 3rd one for my steam and other games. Since I'm coming from Arch and I'll only be formatting my root drive, what folders/files will I need to remove from my /home directory after switching to Nobara so I don't have issues?

  3. Since I separate drives for everything, I'll be doing a manual partitioning when I install Nobara, and will be choosing btrfs for my /root so I can do snapshots with timeshift. My question is, does Nobara set up the subvolumes automatically for me when I do manual partitioning, or do I need to set them up myself?

  4. How hard is it to set up snapshots in grub?

  5. Or does Nobara have a back up tool already that already does snapshots?

Thank you.

When will be your "this is the last fucking time I'm voting for the 'lesser of two evils', then I don't care after that, let this country burn to the ground"? For me, this is basically it. This is last election I'm going for that " lesser of two evils" bullshit. After that I'm done. It's just pointless. Let's hear it.

Hi all, I'm switching motherboards. No dGPU. Going from an Intel MB to an AMD one. I have my root partition on an nvme and the home one on a 2.5" sata. Do I need to reinstall, or can I just move the drives from the old MB to the new one without a problem? Figured since both Intel and AMD drivers are both baked into the kernel out of the box, wouldn't it just work and I'll only need to remove the Intel stuff? I'm running good ole endeavourOS with KDE Plasma if that makes any difference. Any insight is much appreciated
