I have a channel on my instance where I post videos about PeerTube. Here is one example video on how to subscribe to other instances:

Hm I wonder, is it really a command? I thought it is just a function of the shell to change the working directory.

Is that a text book terrorist attack?

So this is why I switched to the fediverse. But to be honest, I have no idea if someone does things like that here or not. All my posts are public to everyone and machine readable. The only thing which would prevent someone of survailing users on the fediverse is it's very small scale. It is probably just not worth the effort.

The only time I call anyone is when my partner can't find her phone and I have to call it, because we set it so that my number is on the VIP list so it will ring even if it's on mute or Do not disturb mode.

The thing is, invasion without immigration following it might kill a lot of the original people but doesn't displace them as a whole.

It depends a bit on how you define immigration. Is what the Spaniards and English did to the Americas immigration or something else?

If the influx of a different culture is so big that it displaces you and your children like it did to the Native Americans, then I understand that you'd want to stop it.

The warp one seems to do that.

What other alternatives are there than Lemmy, PieFed and Mbin which work grate together already without any extra apps?

God damn it, I was 8 and in the movie theater with the whole school. I remember crying when I saw this scene., and I still do every time I see it.

Hey at least they have a choice, either it will be demolished before or after they relocate.

Do you guys ever use the Internet Archive for anything? I agree that they're doing a great job archiving things, but realistically, through time most of things which happened have been forgotten.

I use the Wikipedia like once a week to look something up, but I only ever used the Internet Archive to look at a early version of my own website. But never for anything else. But perhaps I'm missing out on something?

  • 1 to 1 part water and Korean pancake mix
  • one hand full of kimchi, cut in small pieces
  • generous amount of frying oil

Last Friday was midsummer, but because I'm not in Sweden but in Korea I had to improvise with ingredients which I could find here.

  • Toast Skagen
  • Fried salmon
  • Gravad lax
  • Crisp bread with cheese
  • This years small potatoes
  • Absolut vodka
  • Danish Heineken
  • Danish Somersby apple cider
  • Strawberries with whipped cream

I speak Polish, German, Swedish and English. 3 of them are Germanic languages so they were easy to learn because they are so closely related. Polish and German I learned as a child so it was kind of automatic.

Now I have to learn Korean and struggle so much! After 3 months I have learned about 100 words. Any tips how to get to the first 1000 words Ina reasonable time? Especially in a language where none of the words seem to resamle anything from my previous languages.

TLDR: The main reason was Lemmy hogging server resources.

Last year, during the Reddit 2023 API controversy I finally deleted my account and moved on to Lemmy. Here’s a look at my experiences and why I eventually decided to switch to PieFed.
