I actually like rounded corners but I wouldn't ever touch Edge.
gamey
Seriously? Maybe try to take another look because that couldn't be father from reality!
Across the web and byond!
That change only nerfed Adblockers and made Firefox the better supported platform for UBlock Origin but I think they talk about web environment integrety aka DRM for the web, that will break ad blockers enfirely for all sites that want to block them!
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quaks like a duck it might just be a duck!
A german Youtuber made a great video about that titles "not AI will replace you, your boss will"
Funfact, the shitpapers of Axel Springer plan to use fully fletched AI generated articles since ChatGPT came out, in that case I can't see any way to decrease the quality further tho!
Youtube never was a especially profitable business on it's own, they basically just need it for the traffic but I guess they might try to change that, if that's the case the logical next step would be dropping independent creators! :/
Luckily Libretube and Piped still work so I haven't had to visit the normal Youtube site in ages, I do know Youtube increased their aggression towards third party frontends too tho so we will see how long the Newpipe extractor will work I guess!
I think that would make a lot of sense considering the different communities about similar topic on different instances, can't replace a proper search engine but I get that that would be really expensive to host (you would have to basically index Lemmy) and that's a nice option for official discoverability support. The biggest issue in that regard will continue be the architecture of current search engines tho, Fediverse applications can't rank properly in a domain based system and a Reddit alternative MUST rank in search engines to be viable!
I am a gamer and I didn't ether!
It's a really good search engine and I have no reason to doubt their claims about privacy and cencorship but I have to say no there because beside finding piratebay in the normal search results it's all just their claims and I don't know of any sientific study or similar that ever tested any of the claims. If you don't trust those promises self hosting SearX is probably a good option and I haven't tried it in years but Qwant is another one with their own index aka independent results.
