Am I doing something wrong? I search communities with key word weather and find no communities with over a few to maybe a dozen subscribers.

I want to ask for advice on a good Android weather widget. 'Ask Android' is a community I will place a question on but naturally the best place would be 'Android Apps' which is a ghost town and weather communities are also like ghost towns.

Are there communities out there that I'm not seeing somehow? Please help?!

I don't want to use Reddit but may have to on some of these niche communities due to sparse activity.

I like to plan ahead and after posting my info in the website https://www.death-clock.org/ it scared me into changing my eating habits.

OK after more digging they are called Progressive Web Apps (PWA'S)

Now that I found proper term I am getting many results.

Thanks for reply. Do those have an .app extension? Where can they be found ?

I stumbled upon a useful website but come to find out its also a web app?!

The domain is .app. So what is cool is I was able to create its own entry in my phones app list by clicking the add to Home Screen button on Firefox.

My question is where can I find a website with lists of these with categories even

I didn't have much success with search engine queries. Thanks!.

Holy +$@#$%-!! I was floating in the Pacific Ocean for weeks 🥶 after the ship sank. A kind Samaritan pulled me aboard and I'm now safe and sound 🤗💯 in the BoostforLemmy community.

Also am very much looking forward to the impending app release!

Not buying a can of beer and not allowing a family TV show to air on TV? I see nothing wrong with comparing as they are both symptoms as to what is wrong with America and that is CANCEL culture run amuck.

Cancel culture isn't exclusively associated to thealt-rigtht MAGA crowd.

Agree and the flag was just kind of there. Don't really remember dialog in the episodes discussing the flag although I was young.

So when it comes to dialog the Dukes didn't promote an ideology just reflected a southern flavor on family life.

But even though the Confederate flag is offensive to many this still isn't reason for the blacklisting of the show outside of DVD sales.

Yes it was. The red herring in the room is the Confederate Flag on the General Lee. But watching the show itself it was about helping out your family and your neighbors. Car chases, dealing with the corrupt and inept sherrif department of Hazard County and about GOOD country music.

No curse words and no excessive sexual innuendo like Two and a Half Men did. Nor was their racism although it was an all white main cast and there weren't many minority minor characters Sherriff Little comes to mind as one.

I believe they should still show the Dukes on Me-TV and other outlets but just present at beginning of the show a disclaimer about the Confederate Flag and note the reason for the valid condemnation from those who have personally been adversely affected by its history of being.

The cancel culture of Bud Light is wrong just as it is with the Black Listing of what is essentially a good family television show.

Great idea! Also I noticed that sports communities are mainly bots. Really wonder just how many actively posting users there are on Lemmy?

Even in the hay day of online discussion forum websites you'd have trolls that derail threads and bring nastiness to the forefront.

Good moderation, clearly defined rules and quality of content are key- contributes to a quality forum.

The karma farming and bridgading of Reddit is not missed here. Now if we can get some of the niche forums more population.

I had read that some countries governments have access to app users shared data despite what it says under app details in Google Play Store.

I have some really good apps that I think I'll probably have to shed. Please advise. Thanks.

Awesome. Strength in numbers.

Well some people start communities but are not up to task. There should be a well developed rules/about community page. I have seen just create a community post links and do very little to build engagement.

People are gonna look and leave if a community has like 10 members a new thread with a few replies every two to three days and links.

When I get a little time I will be creating a community. Either way level of engagement will take time to build but lackadasial community creaters add to the build time.

Years ago I worked at an electronics store and have seen some very interesting products over the years with some being very useful.

Not sure how to do a poll on here but wanted to see how people matched on the ownership of some of these useful devices .

Have you ever owned a My (answers)

-PDA? Yes, I had a Palm IIIe

-DVD-Recorder? Yes. Successor to VCR sure didn't last long... 😖

-WebTV? No. Interactive TV in the days of dial-up. 🙂

-3D Television? No

-Raspberry PI? No but I want to.

-Internet Radio Player? No This would be fun especially if it also had am/FM tuner
