I've only made one system change to my phone today, allowing the Magisk app to update to v27.0 — and now my WiFi returns "IP configuration failure" to all networks.

Maybe I'm seeing a correlation where there isn't one, but I'm curious if others have similar experiences and — more to the point — have any suggestions for fixes.

I just updated to Magisk 27 as well and saw strange behaviour as well, TZ reset to UTC (I'm in CET), permissions revoked for apps,... Also it required to reinstall to optimize for my device (usually this is only on a clean install).

I'd advice to check your wifi settings. Maybe ot reset the mac you use. (I use device mac at home and random everywere else)

It installed fine on my Pixel 7 Pro, on my 8Pro it removed root when I tried to hide the app, but a reboot showed the app hidden with root.
