A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.

Why do people use insert lingo specific to a community here in colloquial speech when it means something very specific to me?!

For me, it’s “antisocial”. Anybody else got good examples?

Edit: “hallucinogenic” vs “psychedelic” is another good one. Why doesn’t everyone know the definitions of words that I know the definition of??

I know, right? Like, people are always saying "parallel" when they mean "concurrent!" "Hard drive" when it's clearly an SSD. Dummies.

Dr Glaucomflecken just did a sketch mocking a doctor for saying dehydration when they meant hypovolemia (lack of water vs lack of total fluids). There was also this one about mental health terminology.
