Nobody reads this far down right? I'll just shill for J-Novel Club a bit because I love that they sell DRM free Ebooks. Go buy the series from their website.

Alejandra Whitney-Smith has plans for president-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration next week: spend a week in a cabin without technology.

“It [inauguration weekend] coincides with my birthday weekend, which I usually do spend in DC, but when the election happened, I told myself, ‘Oh, no, I can’t be here,’” said Whitney-Smith, whose mother was working at the Library of Congress during the January 6 attack on the US Capitol in 2021. “I just remember that feeling of fear for her and then also just concern for me being in the city. I just knew for me – I didn’t want to be around that sort of hostile negative energy.”

The DC resident said she will hunker down in a cabin with four friends during inauguration weekend and do some vision boarding, reflection and reconnection. As for the re-election of Trump, she says it, “represents the ugly side of America that people don’t want to acknowledge”.

Wondering if I'm bad at using the search or if there is only a selfhosting community with a lot of subs?

I didn't even know there was a premiere in London on Wednesday, but there we have it.

Highlights: the person who saw the movie described it as "fun," "silly," and "Guardians of the Galaxy meets Fifth Element meets Mission: Impossible".

There's also a full, recorded-from-the-audience Q&A with Michelle Yeoh and Robert Kazinsky.

I hope this post is still allowed as League of Legends is like 15 years old.

As I've been posting on !leagueoflegends@lemm.ee , the game seems getting quite enshittified lately, making especially difficult for new players to join.

As a potential consequence, the game got quite difficult lately. Before, you could still win a game as a casual player. Nowadays I feel like casual players left and there's only "serious gamers" around, especially in 5v5 normal games.

Anyway, all of that to say that Marvel Rivals has been on my radar as a replacement. Not the biggest fan of hero shooters, but gameplay seems fun and engaging. Is anyone here playing it?

It’s little over five months since the Labour Party won the election. Yet a majority of the UK public are now opting for Keir Starmer to resign as prime minister, according to YouGov. 40% of respondents think he should resign, while 36% think he should remain and 24% don’t know.

Text for readability:

So far, Americans using RedNote have said they don't care if China has access to their data. Viral videos on TikTok in recent days have shown Americans jokingly saying they will miss their personal "Chinese spy," while others say they are purposefully giving RedNote access to their data in a show of protest against the wishes of the U.S. government.

"This also highlights the fact that people are thirsty for platforms that aren't controlled by the same few oligarchs," Quintin said. "People will happily jump to another platform even if it presents new, unknown risks."
